Yet...Another Self-proclaimed Saviour (Or, Savorer!!!)

At last, the curtain has risen (or, been raised?) for another political drama - a much awaited one, though for varied reasons!
A. P. J. Abdul Kalam has asked him to come into politics. He has reportedly said that contemporary politics require 'such people as he.' Once this ex-President has so explicitly expressed his opinion, all the clouds are gone. No more dilemma. Otherwise, it would result in the 'unwanted' occurrence of a 'historical blunder.'
Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule (a brief bio of Phule is available here, in case you are not aware of him: http://www.iloveindia.com/indian-heroes/jyotirao-govindrao-phule.html) are sources of inspiration to him.
Surprisingly, rather expectedly!!!, he has also said that NTR Senior is also a source of inspiration to him in this regard.
Two of the incidents that have DEEPLY moved him - moved him to the point where he has realised that he is DESTINED, not that he has WANTED to, to enter politics are a suicide note of a home guard who has reportedly written in that note that it deeply saddens him that he is dying without having had the opportunity to watch the him coming into politics and an IT Couple (who, while died) in Hyderabad expressing the same wish.
He has very good understanding of the burning topics of the state and he has definite opinions and frame works for all of them.
There is substantial representation for women in his coterie.
He has been serving people through just two organizations so far and it is time for him to EXPAND the activities.
He feels sure that it is his responsibility, obligation, duty and destination to serve the people.
On August 26th, the birthday of Mother Teresa (actually, Mother Teresa herself said that the day when she was baptised would be the day she would consider to be her birthday - Courtesy: http://www.lucidcafe.com/library/95aug/motherteresa.html - ) he would announce his manifesto and other details.
YSR is watching. Babu is watching. Balayya (!!) is watching. Jr.NTR is made to watch. Hari Krishna is watching. Krishna is watching. Mahesh Babu, most probably, is made to watch. Left Parties are watching. Devender Goud and TRS are also watching. Vijaya Shanti must be watching. Rajasekhar and Jeevita are already congratulating themselves on their having known that his move would be futile for the precise reason that whatever he wants to do has already been done by Congress!!! Sonia Gandhi must have had a 10-minute telephone talk with those concerned.
Tomorrow the film industry is going to be treated. Speculations must be high. I am yet to hear about the response of Mohan Babu.
Upphooo...Seems like the whole state has got one more reason to escape from their boring routine.
But, I am gonna be busy watching the first one-dayer. The only sad thing about the match is that my Dear Dada is not there in the squad.
May God bless my Dear State Andhra Pradesh.
Nota bene: Ah! What a coincidence. I just hear the song... తరలి రాద తనే వసంతం, తన దరికి రాని వనాల కోసం?! from the movie Rudra Veena on Teja. The meaning of the lyric is "Doesn't the season Spring arrive all by herself to those gardens that cannot go to her by themselves!"
Well! You understand who the Spring IS and who those gardens ARE!!!
Related tidbits:
Now He is one of the directors of the Channel Maa TV (Nagarjuna is also on the board!)
Contrary to what most believe, he knows everything about farmers' problems. His family owned five acres of land and there were times when he toiled there.
He opines that politics in the State are not rotten! And he also opines that there is a need for 'constructive change.' And, the people, rather peoples of Andhra are whole heartedly inviting such a change.
His rivals are poverty and hunger.
According to him (also), there is a yawning gap between the haves and the have-nots and that needs to be cemented, and, it SHALL BE CEMENTED.
He quips that he is not a Robin Hood, but he is the livelihood of poor people!!!
At present there is no idea of any alliances. But, if need be, he does not hesitate. (A very good example of political acumen already. Good news for the prowlers or good news for oneself??)
People are my political gurus. (Honestly, I do not understand the meaning of this.)
The అభిమానం of my people is the money I have... to run my party!!! (Again, I fail to understand this.)
I am not here for power or position or money. (I always suspect the verity and sanity of statements, which are mutually contradicting.)
What is of concern to him is...to do the same things others have done/are doing/say that they have done or are doing...differently.
Signing off for the time being.....

hehehehe.... i think its time now for Dada to start his own political party back in Bengal!! (just kidding)

at this point in time there is one common thing between Chiru & Dada. Both are concentrating on something else than their core areas. Dada is playing soccer(not cricket) & Chiru is into politics(not movies).

its always fun to read any of ur posts... Hats Off !

Hahahaha...There is a point Sunny. And, YES...even I enjoy the fun (not all of them, though) of writing my blog-ups. Thank you for the visit.

indeed it was funny..

The fact that I cannont understand, what has been there in his speech was "People are wanting change", I am not sure who told him this, rather this statement itself might give a feeing that,

why don't I want change..

aaaalu said...

Mmmm...of course, there have been so many people who must have said that to him. The only problem with statements like..."People are seeking change..." is that they have to take it with a pinch of salt...but most DO NOT.

I have just been to your blog. Quite interesting. Thank you for this visit.

Hello Anupama...

After a long time. Thank you for the visit and comment.

chiru tried to talk with political correctness. think of a speech like the one below

"i have a huge fan following in the state. i run charitable organizations. with my huge popularity, i can definitely come into politics. although many sections in the society are not really interested in my entry, my fans are. after discussing this with allu aravind & naga babu, i decided to jump in.

right now i am gathering information on various problems in AP. i believe the state's politics are rotten. current leaders are inefficient & i am here to bring reforms. TDP, congress etc. are my rivals since i will affect their vote bank. Mr. ABC from congress & Mr. XYZ from TDP are my political gurus.

i have N crores of money, which is a reasonably good amount to start off. anyway my supporters will bring enough funding.

being a celebrity (and also a legend by recent standards), i deserve the position of CM. with my popularity, winning AP elections should be a cakewalk. and yeah, it is undeniable that there's a lot of money in politics.

give me a chance, and i'll show u how innovative my government's schemes can be! they can put the congress/TDP works to shame!!"

Hi Anil...for reasons I do not know, only the first part of your comments (I have received your comments in two parts) appears here, when I have moderated it to appear here. I am posting the second part all by myself...

Here goes the second part of your comment.

although people who disagree with the factuality of chiru's speech find part of the above fictional speech to be agreeable, what would chiru look like with such a speech? "MORON". he's new to the game, he has to play safe. if we agree that he is into politics for all the obvious reasons, we cannot expect him to talk like satya harischandra. and if we don't like the idea of chiru being the next leader/CM, we can always choose not to vote to him. or even make use of the 49-O :)

what i don't understand here is.. why didn't a majority of population comment like this on NTR's political entry back then? (some don't dare to do such a thing even today). perhaps our generation is not so gullible to movie charisma. yet, i believe chiru's 2 charitable organizations are a lot more real & helpful than NTR's countless educative films.

P.S.: i am not a fan of chiru ;) if my writing style is pathetic, i am sorry for letting u down :( coz i was ur student. if you are reading right down to this line, thanks a lottttt!!!

What I like most about your comment here is your style of writing. Since I am not the only one who has taught you everything related to your language skills, I do not have any reason either to feel proud of you or to fell let down. Trust me when I say...your writing style is really very good and YES, I have read your comment right down to the last line. You are always welcome.

Touching with my response, I do not know how many people were pro and how many were against Mr.N.T.Rama Rao, when he entered politics. The only thing known to me at that time was that I could not believe that even he would change the fate or fortune of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr.N.T.Rama Rao has served people, certainly, with more number of 'educative films.' Mr. Chiranjeevi could not match the number, unfortunately. He would have probably reached that number, had he delayed his ingress into politics. Even now, he seems to have an eye on that number. (I hope that you have marked the sarcasm in the tone here.) By the way, I am not a fan(atic) of Mr. N.T.Rama Rao.

I opine that Mr.N.T.Rama Rao, just like Mr.Chiranjeevi now, was only bothred about his change of career. Period.

If you have read my post carefully and unbiasedly, you would have understood that I am skeptic only about what has been so far said by Mr.Chiranjeevi and I do not have anything against him personally. Unfortunately, I do not find any political icon in the contemporary times to look up to and then look down upon Mr.Chiranjeevi.

And coming to the most important of all the things I want you to know here is that it is that 'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS' that has been demonstrated almost impeccably that has made me write this blog-up.

I am sure that there are better ways of communication to express one's sincerity than the one chosen by Mr.Chiranjeevi.

And now, do not ask me as to what that way is. Do not also ask me how would I communicate my sincerity, if I were Mr.Chiranjeevi. I am not anybody's political guru.

Let me explicitly state here that I am NOT AGAINST ANYONE. And let me also with the same degree of explicitness state here that I AM AGAINST THE METHODS CHOSEN BY THOSE I OPINE AGAINST.

I believe in actions, not in promises that are either hollow and/or that sound hollow.

I am waiting here for the ensuing acts of this drama (I do not use this word here with any degree of sarcasm. It is plain and innocent in its meaning). If Mr.Chiranjeevi proves my apprehensions to be baseless and misplaced, I myself would be posting my apologies to him here on this very platform. Rest assured.

Hope I am clear.

Thank you for having moved me enough to post this long a response. Of late, I am not getting this kind of stimuli as many in their number as I love them to be.

I still respect you.

Wishing political good for all of US here in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Anil... I forgot to add that even Mr.Chiranjeevi, maybe due to his commitment to political correctness, has said that he is inspired by Mr.N.T.Rama Rao. That is one of the reasons for my becoming and being skeptic about what he has said there.

Good topic. It tempted me to write in blog too. Do visit. In short, my view is:

An avid follower of politics would, without doubt, vouch for the fact that an overall vote swing of 5% would make or break a government. And it is this very fact which would come in handy for Naidu when the actual electorate cast their voting rights next year. Out of every 100 votes that are likely to be garnered by Chiru's political outfit, not more than 25 would be from TDP and the rest from Congress and others. For me it is a simple arithmetic.

Many good actors are bad politicians and the vice versa is not true. Politics should certainly see influx of new blood.
Tarali rada tane vasantham is okay but it will be a sad day for AP politics to watch him singing the old Mohd Rafi Classic :
ye duniyaa.. ye mehfil.. mere kaam ki nahin..

Hi Sunil...

Your perspective reminds me of one of the problems our CAT students face - How to cross the cut-offs and then maximise the score?

Irrespective of the fact whether the intentions are good or bad, one has to try to win.

I do not think that our politicians, seasoned or otherwise, believe in what the Father of Modern Olympics - Pierre de Coubertin - says...It is participation which is more important than winning.

I am waiting for the announcement of the Manifesto.....

Thank you for the visit and the comment. I am on my way to your blog.

I loved his style, but i suppose he is not fully ready.

If my expectations are correct,
he might be getting 28-30 seats.

And definitely,he will not and can not and might not become the cm.

aaaalu said...

Hello Bhargav...expecting to see you some time here around.

I beg to differ with you with regard to the number of the seats you have guessed there. It SHALL BE more, given the 'political acumen' of most of our comrades about to franchise their vote.

I repeat what I have said hiterto. I am waiting for the manifesto to be released.

partha said...

Hmm…praja rajyam he called it…the name doesn’t fail to ring some bells of similarity in my ears....

NTR called it telugu desam as he proclaimed himself as THE ONE who has taken it all upon himself to restore the self respect of the telugus... read it “telugu vaari aatmaabhimaanam” if you want to experience some goose bumps...NTR built this up along the path or may be the policies of the then congress govt nurtured this feeling among the public. Whoever was responsible for this mass hysteria (yes! I wud prefer to call it a hysteria keeping in mind the landslide victory a newly formed party had enjoyed...it only throws light on the “political acumen” of the wise men who exercise their franchise.) to build up, the bottom line is that it changed the political scenario of the state for years to come.

Chiru, at least on the face of it, intends to tread a similar path. All thru the five years of congress rule in the state, the opposition and the press (a majority of it which of course plays according to the whims and fancies of the major opposition party) have built up this feeling of anarchy and sometimes gang rule of course (how can we afford to ignore the caste angle that is ever so green...literally…considering the kind of green backs it brings into the coffers of the media companies in the state....remember all those headlines and news articles in Eenadu using the word “asmadeeyulu”...and to be frank not all of it was untrue...and sometimes it did make one feel “how can a head of state be so shameless?”)prevailing in the place of democracy. He intends to cash in on this very feeling……promising to give the power back into the hands of the public...his statement that he was inspired by NTR holds true at least in this aspect.

But how capable he actually is in achieving this noble endeavor of his...errr...how ingenious he will turn out to be in making the public believe that he was successful in what he set out to achieve (is this not what all politicians do after all...make people believe...) remains to be seen…

But the most interesting phase of this party would be the time when it begins to mature. TDP, in some ways benefited from the fact that NTR was the only big honcho in the party...atleast he was the only one visible to the public. It is always that much more easy for a party to be under the guidance of a single visible brain during the time it is establishing it self. The problem that Chiru will have to grapple with would be the fact that there are atleast 3-4 more people in his party who are prominent in the public eye and it is not uncommon to have difference in opinion when there are so many equally powerful people. One should also not forget the common notion that prevails in the film industry about the kind of influence that allu arvind wields on Chiru. It is widely believed that Arvind holds all the strings that control Chiru’s moves...

How the equation pans out once the real game starts...whether Chiru will allow the same control to allu...if he wud turn out to be strong enuf to withstand the cruelties of politics(incidentally he escapes to a holiday in a foreign locale everytime his movie flops...a way to stay away from the press)..whether PK will shrug off his eccentric nature that is often associated with him (rightly or wrongly..)...what role caste plays in their explicit and implicit policies (though it may sound unpalatable, one has to be accept the fact that this party represents a community that has so far been left power hungry,....though Chiru and his party in all their earnestness be sincerely sincere in their stated endeavor, the media will certainly try to probe this angle to not only get more content for their air time but also to cater to their pledged alliances to a particular party.)

And I am even more eager to look forward to the role Ramoji rao is going to play in this. I can almost sense something brewing already considering the kind of positive coverage he is giving to Chiru’s party as well as NCB’s state wide tour. Is he going to be THE NEGOTIATOR between the two?
Aaaah...the negotiator...cant help but recollect the role of Samuel Jackson in the movie....
Will Ramoji do a Samuel Jackson?....if only that happens...i have only one word to describe it.... “baaga kalipina pulihora"....my mouth’s already watering....

And of course, needless to say, the common man is being taken for a ride in this entire drama....hey!! but wait...wont he be happy with the “pulihora potlam” that he is getting...what else for does he go to all those political rallies and meetings?.....

And where will this leave congress?....Well… they will play their own game with the portfolio of media and not to forget the huge reserves of money (seemingly, these reserves far exceed the amount of water in the reservoirs they have built) they have accumulated for themselves.

This reminds me of the song from the movie “Company”...

“dhandha hai bhai ganda hai yeh”...

Indeed it has become a dhandha...a dhandha of churning out beggars as Jai Prakash Narain has aptly pointed out.

I believe this is the first time I am writing a comment after reading a series of comments...

perhaps this is one of the blog I visit of often for reading comments..

One more interesting thing I liked about chiru's entry was the way he brought awareness of the Voter Card's. sincere efforts were made to register the people for voter cards.. the only hope I have is, he being from modern movie background( I mean acted in many modern movies) to have some proper screen play, he being himself the starrer and the director :-)..

Adi sir.. you might not remember me, I was a student of your at Time .. CS 57 batch back in 2005.
and coincidentally my friends call me Adi.. my name being Aditya.. :-)

aaaalu said...

Hi Adi(tya)...other parties have not considered it to be necessary and PR has considered it to be important. The motive behind that move is self-explanatory...The more to vote...the more the chance. It's simple logic.

I hate to be pessimistic about the moves of any politician and any political party...but then, I am very often forced to.

You are welcome here as often as you feel like.

What are you doing these days? Send me a mail...if you do not have any objection. We, at T.I.M.E. are always anxious to know the whereabouts, whatabouts and howabouts of our students.

Sunil K Daga said...

"Whats new?". The manifesto doesnt contain anything spectacular. Now I am trying hard to predict the unpredictable. Looking at the tempo with which people from across parties are flocking into PRP expecting tickets for the next elections, I just got a feeling that Chiranjeevi hurried it a bit. As most of them are "CATS ON THE WALLS" (as chiranjeevi would like to call them) I could see people getting out as fast since all cant be appeased. The intents might be good but the "Management" needs to be better.

If Chiranjeevi fails to capitalize on this once in a life time opportunity, the reason will be sheer management or rather lack of it.

hi,
i think chiru is goin very strategically.
i mean his visit to sirsilla, which is near by my town shows his masterwork.

but i feel,if chiru wants to be a part of governing,he should make an allay ,

because prp starts with 0,where as congress starts with 30 and tdp starts with 15

of course seats!

Of course..there is some strategy Bhargav...I am waiting for the day, when everything gets unveiled.
